to everyone.. They don't even see what's in the letter and why 100's of people sending same letter. Sigh.. :mad:

Does anyone have 140 approved from TSC, and 485 "receipted" from NSC (i.e., LIN number, without this being transferred to TSC)?

It may not have any impact on EB3 this year...but once the EB2 is cleared it will have an impact on EB3; may be in a year or two.

The letter campaign resulted in 5000 odd letters from the entire EB community. This included efforts from some very hardworking IV people who did not spend time on the forums but went out and collected 100s of letters, one collected more than a thousand letters. So i am guessing that not more than 2000 EB folks got their collective butts to participate in the letter campaign.
if you expect EB2 I and the so call US educated (i am too, hence i can use 'so called') folks to stop chatting on the forums and send money and letters in the tens of thousands, then please tell me want you smoke --- i would like to inhale some of that magic too.
good luck towards your efforts. if you make it happen then, in all honesty, i would also like to nominate you to the core team, if you dont then i have a bridge in brooklyn that i want to sell.

it looks like many folks got their approval one day after filing an SR - coincidence or a trigger? Is filing the SR somehow triggering the IOs to look at your file ?
However, many people who filed SR on the first working day of the month 08/02 were not approved the next day. Also, the many others who bombarded the USCIS with multiple requests/queries had to wait much longer or are still waiting.
It is almost like the IOs didn't like to be bothered on the first working day of this month (when the begin working on a fresh set of files) and also didn't like to be pushed too much.
Or is this all just a super coincidence for hundreds of people?

Well i opened an SR 08/05 and still waiting with a PD of 12/15/2005. I guess it's all random.

I have taken an infopass tomorrow to get the I-551 stamp on my passport. Once that is done I will be mailing out the form I-90 for replacement.

You considered the I+ C allocations and subtracted those in line 1. You again subtracted those in your final calculation.
The straight forward calculation is EB2 ROW is entitled to 34,436 (1) and they used 27,406 (2). So splillover was around 7 K.

In effort to make legislators and people aware of legal immigration issues, we should take help of media.This would be most effective.
Hiring a lobbying firm to pursue our issues with legislators is a good idea but it should be accompanied with media awareness as well.This is money intensive project and it will take time to reach its target of 100k.We need some other channel of awareness open as well and we need to do that soon so that it has some effect on Feb bills.
People are not aware that we are going thru such long waits to get immigrate legally.This issue needs to be highlighted.
Lawmakers would listen to legal immigration issues if they read in leading newspapers NYT and Washington Post. These newspapers are very influential.

This does not make sence at all. Why the USCIS would make visa number current then retrogress again? I do not think they make all visa current and not expect a flood of applications. .

There is no sense from those buarocrats because they are incompetent and purely stupid. You are right, USCIS did not plan for this... simply because they never had a plan! They have no idea what damage they can cause to average, hard-working people.

Does one need to be physically present in US in order to file I-485 application? I had already booked my travel to India on May 25th before I came to know that the my Priority Dates had become current. Will I need to be in US till I get the filing receipt? I was curious on how would UCSIS know that I'm out of country on the day of filing?

People who have written letters themselves, post the Letters here. I am having 7-10 ppl in my office write the letters. It will be good if u guys can post the letter contents. I can simply have them write and sign with different letters. People are lazy dont wanna think and write.

So basically he is saying that count your blessings and thank god that you are stuck in Backlog centers or in retrogression because in Europe, its even worse. Its a nice way of saying : "It is what it is, take it or go to Europe or go back to India".

Backlog centers are 20 years behind schedule already? People cant get drivers license in Pennsylvania coz they get only 1 year extensions on H1 due to labor backlog and their wives are driving them to work? Does he know that there is a name-check process that FBI sometimes takes forever which is not only hurting Greencard applicants, its also not a smart thing from security and public safety perspective to sit on someone's name check process while that someone is living and working on work-permit(EAD)? Does he know that the whole greencard process, being employer centric prevents people from switching jobs, getting promotions etc for 6-7 years? Does he know that Australia gives Greencard to all advanced degree holders in few months time who have 2 years masters from Australian university(accredited CRICOS universities) and allows students to work off-campus when they are on student visas?

This Visa Bulletin is expected to retrogress many of the categories that were announced as being "Current" for July. It is expected that at least some of the categories will become completely "unavailable." The reason for this is that the USCIS apparently engaged in extraordinary efforts to approve cases in June, once there was some forward movement of the Visa Bulletin. If the numbers are all used for the year, then the DOS will issue a revised Visa Bulletin reflecting "unavailable" in the particular category or categories.
